Does the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center accept glass?

  • We do not accept glass at our facility or in curbside recycling bins. Glass can be recycled at a private dumpster on Bale Street across from Coosa Valley Communications. Contact Glass Recycling of Rome Georgia for more information.

 

Does the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center pay for metals?

  • We do not offer payment for any materials. Those interested in selling scrap metal should call SA Recycling at (706) 235-2530.

 

Does the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center accept mattresses? Furniture?

  • We NEVER accept mattresses or furniture. These materials must be disposed of at the Walker Mountain Landfill, which can be reached at (706) 291-4512.

 

Does the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center accept tires?

  • We never accept tires at our facility. The one exception is Scrap Tire Amnesty Day, which is hosted annually off site. The Walker Mountain Landfill accepts tires all the time for a nominal fee. They can be reached at (706) 291-4512. Most local tire shops also accept passenger tires for $3-5 per tire.

 

Does the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center accept TVs? Electronics?

  • We ONLY accept TVs and other electronics during our Electronics Collection events, which are hosted every other month in January, March, May, July, September, and November.

 

Does the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center accept appliances? Scrap metal?

  • YES! We accept appliances and scrap metal 24/7 in our drop-off area!

 

Does the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center accept plastic toys? Plastic patio furniture? Other bulky hard plastics?

  • We only accept #1 and #2 plastics in bottle, jug, or jar form.

 

Does the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center offer any pickup services?

  • At this time, we are unable to offer pickup of any materials. Contact City of Rome Solid Waste at (706) 236-4580 for information about their commercial routes. Non-profits or businesses outside the City limits might wish to contact one of the businesses below.
