Visitation Applications
Each potential visitor may type information on the Visitation Application; however, the entire application must be printed, signed in appropriate areas, and mailed back to the facility. Do not use electronic signatures on the Visitation Application.
- Each potential visitor must submit an individual application, including infants.
- Only the visitation application on this page is accepted.
- Applications must be completed entirely with handwritten signatures and copies of verifying documents.
- Email addresses must be listed on the visitation application for further communication concerning visitation.
- Applications are only accepted through the mail. Applications will not be accepted by any other method.

Visitation Decisions
Upon receiving and processing visitation paperwork, individuals will be notified of the visitation decision of approval or denial as well as if additional documentation is needed.
Visitation Hours
- Visitation is Saturday and Sunday, as well as some holidays with an appointment only. Appointments are for one hour. Only one visitation appointment per day for each offender.
- Visitors must be at the facility 15 minutes early to the scheduled appointment time. If an appointment is not scheduled, visitors will not be allowed to have a visit.
- Individuals not on the approved visitation list will not be scheduled for an appointment and allowed to visit.
- Anyone over the age of 16 must have a state ID or Driver’s License to check in.
Visitation List
- Offenders from Diagnostics
- Have 30 days from the day of arrival to add/change visitation list.
- Anyone approved stays approved if all required information is correctly completed and documentation is available.
- Offenders from other facilities
- Change months: May & November
- No changes may be made except during these months.
- All approved on the visitation list will still be approved if all required information is correctly completed and documentation is available.
- Offenders must request individuals to be added to their visitation list.
Visitation Appointment Requests
Submit an email to prisonvisitation@floydcountyga.org to schedule an appointment.
- Submit one email to request an appointment. A response will be sent with appointment details.
- The following information is needed in the email to request a visitation appointment:
- Offender's name, GDC Number, name of the individual visitor(s), telephone number for each visitor(s), and the date and day of the appointment request.
- Visitation scheduling days are Tuesday - Thursday with end time of 4:30 p.m.
- No more than two visitors are allowed for one appointment each day; one visitor must be an adult.
- Appointment requests are for the upcoming weekend. No appointments will be made in advance.
Visitation Rules
ITEMS NOT PERMITTED IN THE VISITATION AREA
- Cell phones, tablets / iPads, wallets, billfolds and purses are not permitted in the building and must be secured in the vehicles of the visitors.
- No food or drink will be brought into the facility from the outside.
- Currency is only permitted for use in the drink and snack machines. Visitors must have the change in a clear baggie. Change only up to twenty dollars ($20) permitted.
- Pictures or paper of any kind are not permitted.
- Supplies for small children and infants are permitted. These items will be searched and must be left at the sign in desk until needed. Offenders are not permitted to change diapers.
ATTIRE
- Visitors are required to wear appropriate attire. Shoes are required at all times for visitors, including children at all times. Male visitors will be required to wear shirts and full-length trousers. Females may wear trousers, or if a female visitor wears a dress, skirt or other similar garment, it may NOT be more than two (2) inches above the knees. Furthermore, all female visitors must wear foundation type garments such as bras, panties, and slip. If a visitor is wearing clothing not considered appropriate by the front entry or visitation room staff, the Shift Supervisor or Assistant Shift Supervisor will be notified immediately.The Shift Supervisor or Assistant Shift Supervisor shall have the authority to:
- Require the prospective visitor to change into appropriate attire;
- Ask the visitor to wear a cover-up such as a sweater, jacket, or other type of concealing garment during the visit; or
- Terminate the visit entirely, especially if the visitor refuses to cooperate with the staff in this matter. Notation of such behavior by a visitor(s) shall be noted in the Department's offender data management system.
- Inappropriate clothing shall include, but not be limited to:
- Dresses or tops with thin straps which expose shoulders or chest area in any manner;
- Dresses, skirts, or other similar garments that are more than two (2) inches above the knees;
- Tops, such as tank tops or any other top which exposes shoulders or chest area in any manner;
- Tube tops or halter tops of any type;
- Any type of clothing which reveals the stomach or the midriff area;
- Any type of clothing that is made of sheer, net, mesh or transparent (see-through) material;
- Shorts of any kind or any kind of slacks that are above the knee (children 12 years old and under may wear shorts);
- Leggings, jeggings, or any other skin tight pants shall never be worn;
- Any other type of clothing that is suggestive or revealing in any way shall be prohibited;
- Offenders may not allow any visitor to wear any of the offender's clothing at any time. Offenders may not wear any of the visitor's clothing or jewelry while in the visitation area, or have in their possession anything owned by the visitor(s). This procedure shall be strictly adhered to and shall be enforced by the visitation room staff.
VISITOR CHECK-IN
- All visitors and their vehicles are subject to search.
- All vehicles must be secured before entering the visitation area.
- Only individuals who are listed on the Offender's approved visitors list with an appointment will be admitted.
- Children and pets must not be left unattended in vehicles for any reason.
- Visitors aged sixteen (16) years and older must provide a valid picture ID (State ID card or Driver's License).
- Visitors are required to place all personal items (including contents of pockets) on the desk at check-in.
- Physical contact is not permitted except for the beginning and conclusion of a visit.
- Children must be supervised at all times. Disruptive behavior must be addressed by the visitor who is the parent/guardian. Excessive disruptions may be cause to terminate a visit.
