Proposal for a training facility shared and utilized by three (3) agencies - Floyd County Police Department, Floyd County Sheriff's Office, and Floyd County Prison. Will include improvements to the existing firing range and a dedicated training center. Also includes a Special Operations building that will house Special Ops teams and all equipment.
Status Updates
2021 - Firing range updated to replace old, outdated equipment to ensure Police, Prison, and Sheriff public safety employees have equipment needed for training. Purchased supplies and protective equipment, including coverings for exposed equipment for Special Operations and SWAT. Project completed.
6.23.2014 - County staff are evaluating sites.
